The Witcher: Blood Origin is a four-part prequel to the Netflix series The Witcher. Set over a thousand years before the events of the main series, Blood Origin focuses on the origins of the first Witcher. It also provides an intriguing look at the creation of the mages who created Geralt.
“Blood Origin” has a lot of familiar faces and characters. But the plot itself is flimsy. What’s more, it lacks a sense of overall purpose. As a result, the story will be largely reliant on the writers’ imaginations.
In The Witcher: Blood Origin, Fjall Stoneheart is a member of an elven clan that rivals Eile. He is noted for his physical strength, and his visceral nature. When Eile and Fjall come into conflict, they team up for a revenge mission.
The Witcher: Blood Origin premiered this week. In the first episode, we meet the two protagonists, Eile and Fjall. These two may become the first Witchers in the Continent.
The Witcher: Blood Origin is a Limited Series for Netflix, so it will only have four episodes. Each episode is 50 minutes long. Compared to the eight-part Witcher series, it’s much shorter. However, it’s a prequel, so it could provide a deeper look into the creation of the first Witcher.
While the original Witcher relied on Henry Cavill’s star power and outrageous monsters, Blood Origin is a bit less ambitious. It isn’t a standalone epic, and the main duo of court workers has little development.
