Mrs Undercover is a very standard spy comedy that lacks any thrills or laughs to keep you hooked on the screen. The premise is intriguing, and the lead actress is really good but it fails to live up to expectations and disappoints you by the end.
A shoddy script makes Mrs Undercover a complete mish-mash that bumbles its way through spy comedy territory. It aspires to be funny and wants to deliver a message but doesn’t do either.
Radhika Apte is brilliant as Durga but her character has a very limited range. She plays a middle-class housewife in Kolkata who does her domestic chores and takes care of her family like she has ten hands. She is the best actress in this movie and she gives her all to her character.
The supporting cast is pretty solid too. Rajesh Sharma is entertaining as the Special Force chief but he is burdened with an uninteresting character that lacks any depth to make him come to life. Sumeet Vyas also tries his best to bring a character with depth but the script doesn’t allow him to do so effectively.
